AUGUSTUS Fire Tool®
PRIVATE
The Ultimate Multi-Agent Piercing Nozzle System
The
AUGUSTUS Fire Tool®
is the latest technology in Penetrating Nozzles
to Safely combat Compartmentalized Fires using the
Indirect Method of Attack that:
·
PROVIDES Firefighters with a Safe, Quick
and Efficient means of knocking down and extinguishing
Compartmentalized fires.
·
ELIMINATES the need to attempt immediate time
consuming, sometimes risky, forcible entry operations while fires burn
uncontrolled.
·
PENETRATES exterior surfaces with one (1) simple
overhead swing.
·
DISCHARGES extinguishing agents directly into enclosed
areas within seconds.
·
ALLOWS one person to safely attack a confined
space fire without having to open any enclosed areas. IDEAL for MOTOR
VEHICLE "CAR" FIRES.
·
REDUCES Firefighter's exposure to flames, smoke,
hazards and harmful gases.
·
SERIES 100 TOOLS CONNECT to portable extinguishers of
choice.
·
PERFECT for "FIRST RESPONDERS"!
·
SERIES 200 & 300 Hoseline Tools are compatible with
Foam applications and connect to 1-1/2” & 1-3/4" Hose lines. They also
meet ISO’s equivalency for Distributing Nozzles.
·
MAXIMIZES the effectiveness and MINIMIZES the
amount of extinguishing agent.
There are presently three (3) models of the
AUGUSTUS Fire Tool®,
the Series 200 & 300 for booster tank operations using
either a 1" booster, or 1-1/2” & 1-3/4" hose line, and the Series 100
for use with portable extinguishers. All tools weigh between 11 and 12 lb.,
with a handle length of 31", and fitted with an ergonomically designed
cushioned handle grip. They are designed with a flat driving surface on the
backside of the head to allow them be driven with an axe or maul.
The original Series 100
AUGUSTUS Fire Tool®
for Portable Extinguishers is the ideal tool to combat Motor
Vehicle fires and can be easily carried on "First Responder" and Officer
vehicles.
The Series 200 & 300 tools for Hose lines are
designed to be used with booster tank operations for quick knock down and
extinguishment of fires in various Compartmentalized Areas such as:
lightweight construction voids, balloon frame walls, attics, trailer &
motor homes, trailer & box trucks, shipping containers, storage sheds,
dumpsters, air & exhaust ducts, chimney chases, etc., in addition to Motor
Vehicle Fires.
These high quality tools were designed with the primary
objective of SAFETY for FIRE SERVICES PERSONNEL. All
AUGUSTUS Fire Tool®
products are manufactured in the USA and are precision
machined within .003 of an inch from corrosion and rust resistant stainless
steel. The specially designed and hardened stainless steel piercing tip is
easily removed for cleaning, sharpening, or if it ever requires
replacement.
While the tool's operation is relatively simple, the
extinguishing effectiveness of the agent is maximized, and the amount of
agent minimized, because the fire is isolated in an enclosed space. When the
AUGUSTUS Fire Tool®
is used there is no need to attempt immediate time consuming,
sometimes risky, forcible entry operations while the fire is burning
uncontrolled.
The tools are placed into operation by swinging them in
a simple overhead motion, similar to using a splitting maul to drive the
piercing tip through the covering of the area involved. The tool will
pierce sheet metals, plywood, and composite coverings and is designed to be
easily withdrawn from the pierced covering if a different location needs to
be penetrated to knock down fire not reached by the previous penetration.
When the tool penetrates the surface the tool itself fills the hole
eliminating any additional air entrance or draft created by the tool’s
operation.
AUGUSTUS Fire Tool®
for Portable Extinguishers, Series 100
The small size and ease of operation of the Series 100
tool make it the perfect tool for a one-person first response operation.
With the hood, passenger or trunk compartments pierced by the tool, the
extinguisher is operated and discharges the extinguishing agent through the
tool, exiting in a specially designed umbrella shaped spray pattern for
dispersed coverage.
The
AUGUSTUS Fire Tool®
for Portable Extinguishers is compatible with CO2,
Halon (if available), Pressurized Water, or Sodium Based Dry Chemical
extinguishers and will function with the vast majority of those
extinguishers in use today by use of adapters supplied by the manufacturer.
It is recommended that a wetting agent be used in water can extinguishers.
AUGUSTUS Fire Tool®
for Hoselines - Series 200 & 300
The Series 200 & 300 tools for Hoselines are
similar in concept, design, manufacture and operation as the original
Series 100 AUGUSTUS
Fire Tool®.
There are two models of both the Series 200 & 300 tools; one has the handle
at 90o to the penetrating head, and the other at 105o
to the head. The 105-degree angle allows for easier penetration of vertical
surfaces. The difference between the Series 200 and 300 tools is the
maximum depth of penetration. The depth of penetration of the Series 200
striking head from the handle to the discharge orifices (commonly called the
"Snout") is 5-1/8 inches and the Series 300 is 7-1/4 inches.
The extinguishing agent can be supplied from a booster
tank using 1" booster, or 1-1/2” & 1-3/4" hose lines. The extinguishing
power provided by the steam expansion of 55 GPM of water (also compatible
with foam), at Pump Discharge Pressures (PDP) between 135 to 155 PSI, is
greatly amplified because the fire is confined/isolated in an enclosed
area. The tools’ specially designed periphery discharge pattern produces
minimal nozzle reaction force and also significantly minimizes the amount of
extinguishing agent required.
All Hoseline tools have a newly designed 1” NST Full
Time Swivel (FTS) on the end of the handle for a direct connection to a 1”
booster line, or connection to 1-1/2” & 1-3/4" hose lines by utilizing a
6.5, 8, 10 or 12 foot 1” flat hose “WHIP”. When the hose “WHIP” is used the
1-1/2” NST swivel at one end of the “WHIP” hose is connected to a shutoff.
Optional Accessories: Tool specific
Protective Mounting Shoes, a Handle Hold Down and Leather Tip Scabbards
allow for the safe storage of the
AUGUSTUS Fire Tool®. Also available as options
are hose line adapters, various lengths of Hose “WHIPs”, and a 1" ball “D”
Handle Shut-off with a 5/8” Smooth Bore Tip.
